Module Interconnect Cables
Modules may be connected in series, parallel, or a combination of
the two. Cables feature sunlight resistant insulation, heavy gauge
wire to minimize voltage drop, and weatherproof strain relief connectors
for installation on modules with conventional junction boxes and 1/2
knockout. Wiring is direct burial rated to 90ºC. Call Applied Power
for assistance in selecting your interconnect cables and accessories. |
Single
Conductor Interconnects
Single conductor AWG#10 USE-2 XLP with strain relief connectors on
each end. Used mostly for high voltage array wiring, including water
pumping arrays. |
Two
Conductor Interconnects
Two conductor AWG#10 Type TC (Tray Cable) with jacket stripped back
to the strain relief connector installed on each end. Used for parallel
connections between modules, or series connection between only two
modules. |
Three
Conductor Interconnects
Three conductor AWG#10 Type TC (Tray Cable) with jacket stripped back
to the strain relief connector installed on each end. Used for parallel/series
connections between modules. For example, you can use a three conductor
interconnect to series two 12V modules and have 24V available in both
junction boxes by using a dead terminal in each box. Use one wire
(blue) to make the series connection, positive of module 1 to negative
of module 2. Then use another wire (red) to make the positive parallel
connection, positive of module 2 to a dead terminal of module 1. Finally,
use the last wire (black) to make the negative parallel connection,
negative of module 1 to a dead terminal of module 2. |
Two
Conductor Array Output Cables
Two conductor #10 Type TC (Tray Cable) with jacket stripped back to
the strain relief on one end, strain relief supplied for field installation
on the other end. Used for source circuit from module to combiner
box, or in smaller systems for the array output circuit. |
ASE-300
Array Output Cables
Single conductor AWG#10 USE-2 XLP with a Mulit-Contact MC® connector
installed on one end. Use an output with a female connector to mate
to the male connector on the ASE-300 negative pigtail. Use an output
with a male connector to mate to the female connector on the ASE-300
positive pigtail. Used for source circuit from module output to combiner
box. |

Wiring Tools
Hex-Crimp
Tool
Crimp battery terminals, copper lugs and splices on wire from 8 gauge
to 4/0. Adjustable crimp dies are clearly marked and easy to rotate
into position. This 26 tool gives you plenty of leverage for quality
crimping. Made in U.S.A. |
Heavy
Duty Cable Cutter
Cut cable up to 6/0 AWG with this 22 long hand-held cutter with removable
carbon steel blades. Use this tool for cutting large cable to make
inverter cables and battery interconnects. Made in U.S.A. |
Electricians
Tool
Anyone doing electrical work must have this tool. It has a wire cutter,
crimps insulated and non-insulated terminals from 10 gauge to 22 gauge
and it strips 10 to 22 gauge wire. This is a high quality tool, not
to be confused with low-cost hardware store versions. |
Large
Cable Stripper
This handy tool quickly strips large battery cable and welding cable
from 6 gauge to 4/0 gauge. It is 5 ½ long and comes with spare blades. |
