If
you are charging batteries with a generator, you want to charge
as fast as possible without damaging the batteries. This saves fuel
and wear on the generator. With voltage-limiting chargers like these,
it is safe to charge at up to 30% of the battery capacity in amp
hours. That is, you can charge a 100 amp hour battery with a 30
amp charger, or a 220 amp hour battery with a 75 amp charger.

IBE
Industrial Battery Chargers
For larger battery banks we offer IBE battery chargers. These are
industrial chargers with higher current ratings than others we offer.
Designed for use with generators, these units have an adjustable,
filtered output and are protected against overloads, short circuits,
line voltage surges and reversed battery connection. Specify 120 or
240 VAC input. (Also available for 48 and 120 VDC battery banks.)

Truecharge Battery Chargers
Fully automatic battery charging, battery status LEDs, adjustable
for gel cells and flooded batteries, over-temperature shutdown, non-sparking
feature for safe battery connection, manual temperature compensation,
reverse polarity and short-circuit protection. The factory output
voltage setpoints for charging is 13.8 - 14.8VDC, (14.2-14.4VDC 10hw),
and float is 13.1 - 14.2VDC, (13.5-13.8 V DC 10hw). The input voltage

Marche Telecommunications Battery Charger
This is a top quality single-phase controlled ferroresonant float
charger used in the telecommunications industry. A wide variety of
inputs and outputs are available: 12, 24 and 48VDC positive or negative
ground, 10-200 amps output; 120, 208 and 240VAC input. Export models
are also available (230VAC, 50Hz). These chargers can be used with
Lead-acid and NiCd batteries. Chargers feature steady state output
voltage + or - ½% of the setting from no load to full load. Output
noise is less than 32dbrn, output ripple <30mV RMS. Chargers have
an adjustable high voltage shut down, rectifier failure and low current
alarms, and local & remote sensing and equalize. Chargers are

SB
Connectors
The Anderson SB connector has been the #1 quick disconnect for over
20 years for battery powered vehicles and fork lifts. Use them to
make quick disconnects on battery or inverter cables. Two connectors
of the same size and color will mate. The 50 amp version is ideal
for PV arrays and motors. The 175 and 350 amp units are used on battery
and inverter cables. 175 amp connectors fit 1/0 wire. Contacts must
be crimped or soldered. The 50 amp connectors come with terminals
for up to #6 wire and are available in black only. Order two of the
same size and color to mate. |

Hydrometers
The most accurate way to measure the state of charge of a wet cell
lead-acid battery is by using a hydrometer to measure its specific
gravity. A proper test cannot be made if water has recently been added
to a battery cell. Unfortunately, using a hydrometer can be messy
and if you get any acid on cotton clothing you get holes. Always wear
gloves and eye protection when installing or servicing batteries. |

This hydrometer reads actual specific gravity for an accurate measurement
of battery state of charge. A built-in thermometer insures temperature
correction. Variation of .20 or greater specific gravity between battery
cells indicates a need for battery equalization charging or the presence
of a weak cell. |

Battery enclosures
are a convenient method of mounting, securing and containing batteries
and controllers (or other electronic equipment). The larger insulated
enclosures will protect the batteries from temperature extremes,
and can double or triple the life of the batteries.
Custom Battery Boxes And Electrical Enclosures
In addition to the standard models listed below, we can supply custom
enclosures for batteries or complete systems. They feature welded
construction with high reflectance paint or powder coat finish,
stainless steel hinges, mounting brackets, unistrut flanges, pre-punched
mounting holes and lockable latches. Boxes can be bolted together
horizontally or vertically and they can be supplied with solar module

These light weight outdoor enclosures are great for storing large
battery banks. Their 2 piece (box & lid) heavy duty Polyethylene
construction is corrosion resistant. They are white in color &
could be mounted under the Solar array. Both enclosures have lids,
4 louvered vents, 2 lockable slots for user supplied bicycle type
padlocks, & added support to hold a large battery bank. They are
available with an 1” optional R-7 insulation on the sides, bottom

MAPPS
Battery/Control Enclosures
These are the enclosures we use in our UL listed MAPPS systems. They
are locking, vented, 3R type, rainproof enclosures with a hinged door
and a double, white powder coat finish. They will hold 1, 2, or 4,
12 volt batteries up to 100 amp-hours. They have an internal control
enclosure with a 7x15” panel and dead-front with cut-outs for
3 DC circuit breakers. They can be mounted on the ground, a pole,
or wall with included brackets. They have eight 1/2” knockouts
on the bottom and one 3/4” knockout on the lower back. |

Mount Aluminum Battery Boxes
Side of pole mount aluminum NEMA 3R hinged door boxes are available
for several battery sizes and battery/equipment configurations. They
are made to order and can be built to meet specific application requirements.
They are made from 0.125” 5052- H32 aluminum with white powder
coating. They have gasketed doors with padlock hasp and stainless
steel continuous hinge. Each box has a removable control mounting
plate, screened vents and two 7/8” wire entrance holes. Call

Power
Vent Battery Box Vent
Lead acid batteries produce hydrogen gas when charging. But if the
battery box is left open to vent gas in cold climates, the batteries
get too cold and battery capacity is significantly reduced. A vent
that solves these problems are especially important when battery boxes
are placed in basements, garages and sheds. There heat rises in the
structure, a low pressure area forms around the box, cool air flows
into the box and gasses vent into the structure. The Power Vent controls
battery box venting to remove hydrogen gas while eliminating cold
air infiltration into the box. The Power Vent contains a gravity-operated
damper that normally stays closed. When connected to a voltage controlled
relay the fan operates only when the batteries are being charged and
blows gas vapors out. Designed for battery banks under 2200 AH and
charge rates under 125 amps. Fan can be operated from the aux relay
on a Trace SW inverter or a voltage controlled switch (sold separately
below.) The 12/24 volt unit uses 3 watts and pushes 6 cfm with a 360°
maximum change of direction. Dimensions: 4" diameter x 7.25" with
a 2” PVC pipe socket on the inlet and outlet. The 48 volt unit
uses 6 watts and pushes 8 cfm with a 360° maximum change of direction.
Dimensions: 4" diameter x 10" with a 2” PVC pipe socket on the
inlet and 4” on the outlet. |
