Gas Ranges
This is not exactly alternative energy, but many of our
customers have had trouble finding new gas ranges that do
not need a lot of electric power to operate. Most new
ovens have “glow bars” that draw 300 to 400 watts, the
entire time that the oven is on, which is quite a large
battery drain. This is a safety feature to make sure that
the flame does not go out and it prevents you from using
the oven if the power is out. If you do not like having
pilots burning, purchase a range with spark ignition. With
these models, pilots will light automatically if 120 VAC
is connected. Without AC power, all burners and the oven
can be lighted with a match. Units are available with
pilot lights or spark ignition. (Spark ignition consumes 2
watts for a few seconds.) They come adjusted for natural
gas. (Adjustable for LP gas.) Ask for brochure for more

collect. Crating charge is included in the price. White is
usually in stock at the manufacturer. Allow 4 weeks for
